Tribute to the President of the Regional Council, Mauro Bordin

An important recognition for our architectural heritage!

The "Raggi e ArchiTetture - Ville di Lignano" Association is pleased to announce that our President has honored Regional Council President Mauro Bordin with the publication "Aldo Bernardis - Architetture a Lignano 1953 - 2003", edited by Architect Giulio Avon. This book is a valuable resource for appreciating the outstanding works of architect Aldo Bernardis, who left a lasting impact on the seaside resort of Lignano Sabbiadoro.

Aldo Bernardis is the creator of some of the most iconic landmarks in Lignano, which significantly contribute to the city’s tourism and cultural image. Among his most notable works are the Yachting Club, the Azienda di Soggiorno, the Terrazza a Mare, the Kursaal, the President Hotel, and Marina Uno. These buildings are not only impressive backdrops but also places of gathering and leisure that have become integral to the vacation landscape of Lignano for many visitors. Even decades after their construction, their architecture continues to define the city's character.

The book edited by Architect Giulio Avon is the result of a thorough investigation that celebrates and honors Bernardis's legacy. Avon, known for his commitment to preserving and valuing cultural heritage, has also worked on significant restoration projects such as the Esedra di Levante at Villa Manin di Passariano and the redevelopment of Piazza Ursella in Lignano. His expertise and passion for architecture are evident on every page of the book, offering a deep and dedicated exploration of Bernardis’s works.
The book presentation will take place on Wednesday, August 7, 2024, at 6:30 PM at the Pala Pineta - Parco del Mare in Lignano Pineta. The event will feature Laura Giorgi, Mayor of Lignano, Mario Anzil, Vice President of the Friuli Venezia Giulia Region, and Giorgio Ardito, President of Lignano Pineta Spa. Paolo Mosanghini, Deputy Director of the Messaggero Veneto, will moderate the evening, which will also provide an opportunity to hear directly from Architect Giulio Avon about the insights and reflections behind this significant work.

The "Raggi e ArchiTetture - Ville di Lignano" Association thanks President Mauro Bordin for his kind compliments and remains dedicated to promoting and preserving the architectural heritage of Lignano, ensuring that the beauty and history of this extraordinary city are appreciated and celebrated by future generations.
