To ensure that all apartments enjoy panoramic views of the beach, architect Gemin designed a residential building with a complex layout that opens towards the sea while concentrating the service areas on the side facing the lagoon. This approach not only optimizes residents' views but also creates a balance between aesthetics and functionality in the design of the tower.
The building's floor plan was carefully crafted to maximize sea views from every apartment. The facades facing the beach are wide and open, allowing ample natural light and providing stunning vistas. In contrast, the side facing the lagoon features a facade with small openings where the service areas are concentrated. This design choice not only ensures adequate privacy and protection from winds but also contributes to a chiaroscuro effect on the building's facades. The reduced openings on the lagoon side soften the volume of the tower, giving the project an elegant and refined appearance.
A key aspect of the project is the color choice. The original optical white color of the building was selected to stand out against the green of the surrounding pine forest. This bright white made the tower prominent, creating a visual effect that distinguished it from other structures in Lignano. The white tone not only highlights the purity and modernity of the design but also reflects sunlight, causing the building to shine, especially during the day.
The combination of a well-thought-out floor plan, intelligent space distribution, and color choice contributes to making this tower an example of high-quality architecture. Gemin has succeeded in blending aesthetics and functionality in a project that not only enriches the urban landscape of Lignano but also offers a superior quality of life for its residents.
